Requisitos para Donar Sangre:
• Tener 16 años o más y presentar tarjeta de identificación que incluya fecha de nacimiento.
• Jóvenes de 16 y 17 anos necesitan consentimiento previo firmado y completado en todas sus partes por uno de los padres y/o tutor legal.
• Pesar 110 libras o más.
• Temperatura: 99.5 F ó menos (sin fiebre).
• Pulso: regular entre 50-100.
• Presión Arterial: mínima 80/50, máxima 80/100.
• Hemoglobina: 12.5 gms mínimo
¿Quién puede donar sangre?
• Diabéticos, aunque se administren insulina.
• Hipertensos, tienen que cumplir con los criterios de presión arterial señalados en los requisitos.
• Epilépticos que no hayan sufrido convulsiones en los pasados tres meses.
• Personas con condiciones cardíacas sin síntomas, que no tengan restricciones físicas, serán evaluadas por nuestro personal caso a caso.
• Personas que hayan completado la última dosis de antibiótico prescrito en o antes de donar sangre y estén libres de síntomas.
• Si fue vacunado (a) contra la Hepatitis B de manera preventiva, debe esperar siete días después de administrarse la vacuna.
¿Quiénes NO pueden donar?
• Mujeres embarazadas.
• Personas que padecieron hepatitis luego de los 11 años.
• Si presenta síntomas de catarro o gripe.
• Personas que se han hecho tatuajes o “piercing” en los pasados 12 meses.
