Para diciembre de 2012 se hizo pública la revisión del
Manual de Política sobre el Uso Aceptable en las Escuelas Públicas; siendo nombrado ahora
Manual de Procedimientos para el Uso de Internet y Recursos de Tecnología del Departamento de Educación de Puerto Rico. Este nuevo Manual establece las normas que rigen el uso del Internet y los recursos de tecnología por parte del personal y los estudiantes. Su meta máxima es proteger a los estudiante y al personal mientras utilizan los recursos disponibles.
El mismo incluyen temas tales como Cyberbullying, el Bullying, el uso de chats, postear fotos, la propiedad de trabajos escolares y personales del DE, las consecuencias por no cumplir el manual y formularios para aceptar las condiciones estipuladas.
